The small-scale growers that produce this coffee, farm on red clay soil, which is extremely mineral-rich and therefore helps to provide the beans with their unique flavours.

Harvested cherries are taken to the Dumerso washing station, run by sisters Hirut and Mahder Birhanu, which provides a crucial facility in an area of Ethiopia where over 90% of the income is made through coffee.
